At the very young age of four, Melanie was introduced to the violin
and has since enjoyed playing various types of music. Fiddling takes
a major role in her life and she has played at many fiddle contests
throughout Western Canada and the States, bringing many smiles to
the audiences and always hitting the top three placing. Over the
years Melanie has amassed a long list of musical achievements in
fiddle and classical music all across the Midwest. In the year 2000,
Melanie was a junior showcase representing Manitoba at the Canadian
Grandmasters Fiddle Championship in Canada’s capital of Ottawa,
Ontario. She has since represented Manitoba at the competition in
2003-2005. She has toured with the Fantasy Fiddlers with standing
ovations. She released a solo album in 2000 and her second was to
follow in 2005 titled “My Own Way”.
